The successful candidate must meet the criteria of the job specification including:

  •  HACCP level 3 minimum
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience as kitchen assistant or cook in a large-scale kitchen
  • A good working knowledge of HACCP
  • An understanding of principles of teamwork and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Flexible, creative with the ability to adapt
  • Have working knowledge of ingredients
  • Have some knowledge of dietary needs/special diets/allergens

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

NTDC invites applications for an opportunity as a case worker with the Local Area Employment Services. This will be a part-time role.

The LAES is a new service funded by the Department of Social Protection which will be focused primarily on long term unemployed clients farthest from the labour market with barriers to labour market participation. This service forms part of the additional Public Employment Service capacity required to deliver on Pathways to Work 2021 – 2025 strategy.

The Caseworker works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality one-to-one guidance, mediation, advice, job placement and aftercare service to those most distant from the labour market to enable them to progress to employment. Other progression routes are also explored to upskill job seekers, through education and training opportunities, in sectors where labour market demand exists.

Essential qualification: Relevant Level 8 professional qualification (e.g., psychology, social work, social care, counselling, family law or legal profession) approved by CORU or other relevant registration body

Essential experience: At least 2 years’ relevant experience in a social care/ counselling setting and of working one-to-one with vulnerable service users in a key working role and understanding of the process of record keeping, assessments and the development of support plans

Core Competencies: Ability to support service users through a process of change and help them have the confidence and motivation to take the necessary steps to bring about the changes they desire.

Ability to communicate the challenges for women to other stakeholders and successfully advocate for service users.
