Tipperary LCDC Annual Report 2025

The Tipperary Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) is pleased to present its Annual Report for 2025, highlighting a year of strong collaboration, impactful programmes, and continued investment in communities across County Tipperary.

Throughout 2025, the LCDC played a central role in overseeing key initiatives including the Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) 2024–2029, the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), and the Rural Development Programme (LEADER). Working in partnership with local development companies, statutory agencies, and community organisations, the Committee supported a wide range of projects aimed at strengthening local communities, promoting inclusion, and driving sustainable economic growth.

Supporting Communities and Local Development

In 2025, over €1.5 million in LEADER funding was approved for community and enterprise projects across the county. These investments supported rural tourism, local business expansion, renewable energy initiatives, and community infrastructure improvements.

Additional funding streams such as the Local Enhancement Programme, CLÁR, Town and Village Renewal Scheme, and the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) further enhanced facilities, amenities, and public spaces, benefiting communities throughout Tipperary.

Promoting Inclusion and Wellbeing

The SICAP programme continued to support individuals and community groups experiencing disadvantage, helping people access education, training, employment, and social supports.

Programmes under Healthy Ireland Tipperary and Sláintecare Healthy Communities delivered a wide range of health, wellbeing, and social inclusion initiatives, particularly targeting older adults, young people, and marginalised groups. These initiatives focused on improving physical and mental wellbeing, reducing isolation, and building stronger, more connected communities.

Building Resilient and Sustainable Communities

A key focus in 2025 was strengthening community resilience and sustainability. The LCDC supported environmental initiatives, renewable energy projects, and biodiversity actions, while also developing a Community Response to Emergency Events Framework to better prepare communities for future challenges.

The Committee also engaged with innovative projects such as the National Bioeconomy Campus in Lisheen, supporting Tipperary’s role in developing a greener, circular economy.

Looking Ahead

The work of the LCDC continues to be guided by a shared vision:

“Tipperary will be a vibrant place where people can live, work and visit in a competitive, sustainable, and inclusive environment.”

As the Committee moves forward, it remains committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes for communities across County Tipperary.
